This is the story of Gilbert's childhood, his brief career as a civil servant, his less-than-successful years at the Bar, and his subswquent rise to fame as the librettist of the Savoy operas.

Charles's one-man play, from an original script by Brian Jones, adds a question mark to the title, thereby having us judge for ourselves whether or not Gilbert really was A Disagreeable Man. [CD Running time 69 minutes.]

Charles Pemberton was part f the Bristol Old Vic Company prior to working with many of the leading repertory companies. His diverse career has included working with stars such as John Wayne, John Gielgud and Ingrid Bergman. He, like W. S. Gilbert before him, enjoys magic, and holds the Inner Magic Circle's Silver Star.
